    Owners recommend keeping daily charge between 20% and 80%, minimizing DC fast charging, and not leaving the battery at 100% for more than 48 hours. These habits help preserve long-term battery health on the i3.

    A common scare on older i3s: the car displays a "transmission system error" warning when the 12V auxiliary battery is past its service life. Replacing the small 12V battery clears the fault. There is no actual transmission problem.
