6 Things to Know Before Buying Hyundai Kona Electric in Hong Kong

   The Kona Electric has no companion mobile app in Hong Kong. There is no way to remotely check battery level, pre-condition the cabin, or monitor charging status from a phone. This is a significant gap compared to competitors like Tesla and BYD that offer full remote control.

   Used Kona Electrics can be found from around HK$168,000, making it one of the more affordable second-hand EVs in Hong Kong. Depreciation on Hyundai EVs tends to be steep, which is a downside for new buyers but an opportunity for used buyers.

   The exterior design is polarizing among Hong Kong buyers. Multiple owners say it still looks and feels like a conventional petrol car, lacking distinctive EV character. For buyers who want their car to visibly signal the switch to electric, this is a common complaint.
