7 Things to Know Before Buying Lotus Eletre in Hong Kong

   The Eletre starts at around RMB 820,000 in mainland China. In Hong Kong, the starting price is approximately HK$2 million, roughly double the mainland equivalent. This pricing gap is one of the largest among electric SUVs sold in both markets.

   The optional digital side mirrors have a narrow viewing area. Checking blind spots or judging your car's position relative to lane markings requires manually adjusting the monitor, which can be distracting while driving.

   At 2.6 tonnes, the Eletre is about 100 to 200kg heavier than the Porsche Macan Electric, its closest competitor in the electric luxury SUV segment. For a brand built on the philosophy of lightweight engineering, this is a notable departure.

   The Eletre uses Geely's SEA electric platform, the same architecture found in the Zeekr 009. The 009, at a significantly lower price, includes a 43-inch entertainment screen, a 31-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, ventilated massage seats, and an 18-litre refrigerator that the Eletre does not offer.
