8 Things to Know Before Buying Nissan Ariya in Hong Kong

   The B6 Prestige (66kWh) launched at $348,800 and the B9 Performance (91kWh, AWD) at $499,900 under the one-for-one scheme. The $151,100 gap between the two is far steeper than most competitors, which typically charge $30,000 to $50,000 for the bigger battery and AWD upgrade.

   There is currently no companion mobile app available in Hong Kong. This means no remote air conditioning pre-start, no remote lock/unlock, and no battery monitoring from your phone. In HK summers, not being able to cool the cabin before getting in is a real drawback.

   The Ariya retains physical stalks and buttons for key driving functions. For drivers frustrated by Tesla's move to touchscreen-only controls, this is a genuine ergonomic advantage, especially for indicators, wipers, and drive mode selection.

   The seats are thinner and firmer than what Nissan fans might expect. Several owners note the Ariya has moved away from Nissan's traditionally plush "big sofa" seating. On longer drives, the seat padding may not be enough for some drivers.

   At $499,900, the B9 Performance costs more than a Tesla Model Y Performance and sits in the same bracket as entry-level Mercedes and BMW EVs. The main justification at this price is that it is made in Japan, not China, which matters to a specific segment of HK buyers.

   Front tyre wear is a known issue due to the car's weight. Owners report noticeable front tyre degradation within the first year of regular driving. Budget for earlier-than-expected tyre replacements.
