   Real-world range in Hong Kong is 200 to 230km, well below the official 300km claim. That figure requires a new battery, gentle acceleration, and a single occupant. The earlier pre-facelift version only manages 185 to 200km, so check which generation you are buying.

   Private home charging is practically a requirement. With only 200km of usable range, relying on public chargers means constant planning, queuing at shopping mall stations, and social pressure to move your car the moment charging finishes.

   The base Life trim lacks electric seats, a digital instrument cluster, and leather upholstery. Both trims share the same battery and motor. When buying used, the price gap between Life and Luxury reflects comfort features only, not performance.

   The steering feels noticeably lighter and floatier than the regular petrol Golf. Acceleration is smooth and the cabin is very quiet, making it a genuinely comfortable city car. The trade-off is less road feel at speed.
