11 Things to Know Before Buying WULING DARION in Hong Kong

   The overall height stays under 1.8 metres, which lets it clear the entrance barriers at notoriously tight Hong Kong car parks such as Taikoo Shing. For a full-length seven-seat MPV, that is a meaningful practical advantage over taller rivals.

   A 1.8-metre-tall presenter tested every row and called the third row genuinely comfortable, not just "emergency" seating. With the second row slid to a mid position, legroom in row three still accommodated an adult for city-length trips without complaint.

   The Hong Kong version adds features the mainland "Starlight 730" does not get: dual electric sliding doors, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a driver-assistance package. These extras partly explain the price gap between the two markets.

   Resale value is expected to be very low. The consensus among HK car communities is that a Wuling badge will not hold value on the second-hand market, so buyers should plan to keep the car for its full useful life rather than trade up after a few years.

   Only the pure-electric Darion EV is sold in Hong Kong. The PHEV version available in other markets has not been brought over, so buyers who want a plug-in hybrid MPV from Wuling will need to look elsewhere.

   The CLTC-rated 540 km range should be treated with caution. Hong Kong testers and commenters consistently apply a 60% real-world factor to CLTC figures, putting the Darion's practical range closer to 320-330 km in mixed driving.

    At least one BYD M6 owner publicly stated they regret not waiting for the Darion, finding its ride and interior comfort noticeably better. The two sit in a similar price bracket, making the M6 the most direct competitor for HK buyers shopping electric MPVs.

    The early-bird "one-for-one" price of HK$258,800 applies only to the first 50 units. After that, the list price rises to HK$308,000. Buyers comparing quotes should confirm which price tier they are being offered.
