   The instrument cluster sits behind the steering wheel hub. Depending on your height and seating position, the steering wheel rim can block part of the display. Adjusting the wheel to a comfortable angle often makes it worse.

   In a Hong Kong Consumer Council test of 19 electric vehicles, the bZ4X was rated the most energy-efficient. Despite its modest range, it uses less electricity per kilometre than most competitors.

   The bZ4X drives more like a conventional petrol car than most EVs. There is no aggressive regenerative braking or sudden torque hit. Owners who prefer a calm, predictable driving style compare it favourably to a permanent EV-mode RAV4.

   The charging port is at the front of the car. Many public chargers in Hong Kong are set up for rear-port or side-port vehicles, so you may need to reverse in or find a pull-through bay to charge comfortably.

   Rear seat space is generous for the segment. Legroom and width are noticeably better than the Tesla Model 3, making it a practical choice for passengers or families.

   Real-world range falls well short of the 436km WLTP figure. Owners report 300 to 350km in normal Hong Kong driving. Running the heater in winter cuts range further.

   DC fast charging is significantly slower than rivals. A 20% to 80% charge takes close to an hour, compared to roughly 25 minutes for Tesla or Kia EVs. The FWD version supports up to 150kW, but the AWD version is limited to 100kW.

   The unpainted black plastic wheel arch cladding is polarizing. It blends in on darker colours like charcoal or black but stands out on white or lighter paint, which some owners find unattractive.

   The car comes with 20-inch wheels as standard. Replacement tyres at this size cost more than the 18 or 19-inch fitments common on similarly priced EVs. EV-specific tyres are recommended to reduce the faster wear caused by the car's weight.
